I love what I do. I am looking for those who do, too.
01Prospective student researchers
I welcome inquiries from diligent undergraduate and graduate students seeking collaborative applied research opportunities. Opportunities exist for those inclined toward rigorous work involving Agentic AI, large language models, and physical robotics.
For prospective graduate students (M.Sc.)
Individuals seeking to pursue graduate-level research under my supervision must first be admitted to the Master of Science in Applied Computing program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. I encourage prospective candidates to review the program curriculum and admission requirements thoroughly. Students are welcome to reach out to discuss potential research collaboration or supervision after you have received formal admission to the institution.
For undergraduate students (2nd to 4th year)
The laboratory actively integrates undergraduate students into core projects. While these positions are typically uncompensated, they offer a structured environment for acquiring practical expertise with physical robotic platforms and sensor ecosystems. My objective is to foster the technical and analytical acumen necessary for students to develop a substantive portfolio suitable for graduate studies or industry placement. Dedicated individuals may have the opportunity to co-author academic publications. I value fundamental curiosity, technical discipline, and a willingness to engage deeply with complex hardware.
Prospective students are invited to contact me via email with the following materials:
- A current CV or resume.
- Unofficial academic transcripts.
- A brief statement outlining your academic background and specific research interests.
You can see what current students are working on on the group page.
02Prospective industrial partners
I welcome applied research collaborations with industry partners. The British Columbia Institute of Technology provides extensive fabrication and testing facilities for physical prototyping, enabling the rigorous translation of algorithmic models — such as Agentic AI and large language models — into functional robotic platforms.
Such collaborative initiatives are typically resourced through federally supported applied research programs, utilizing funding mechanisms from agencies including Mitacs and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). Organizations interested in addressing industrial challenges through these frameworks are invited to contact me.
